Parks and recreation are a huge asset to Henry County. Toby Berry supervises a small crew of staff who keep all the facilities in tip-top shape. He can be reached by calling 502-845-5707. The three facilities are located in the vicinity of New Castle and are available to all citizens:
- Harry Hill Park includes the Moore-Prewitt Ag Arena, 4-H Building, Henry County Fair, and numerous events year round that involve many people in various activities.
- Softball, baseball and soccer fields, a children's playground, and picnic shelters are utilized regularly by teams and individuals for spring, summer, and fall use.
- The New Recreational and Services Park includes soccer and football fields, the all-access Michael Brent playground, walking trail, pavilion, full-size basketball court, and plenty of green space year round.
- The Donald and Elizabeth Buchanan Splash Pad is located at the New Recreational and Services Park and provides refreshing fun times during warm weather. Check the Henry County FaceBook page for updates on operating schedules.
